Elmer, Louisiana Woman Dies in Single-Car Crash

We all go about our business every day having no idea if it’ll be our last day on Earth. Nobody likes to think about this kind of thing – and they shouldn’t. Unfortunately, people are killed every day in motor vehicle accidents in Louisiana. This was the case for in Elmer, Louisiana as a 25-year old woman dies in a single-car crash this past week.

Kelsey Broussard, a 23-year old woman from Alexandria, was driving her 2009 Mazda Eastbound on Twin Bridges Road when she lost control of her car and ran off the road. Her car went down an embankment before flipping over and ending upside down.

Broussard had a toddler in the back of the car at the time of the crash. The child was strapped into his carseat at the time of the crash and only suffered minor injuries. Both he and Broussard were rushed to the local hospital and are expected to be okay.

The passenger, Brooke Deville was not so lucky. Deville is a 25-year old woman from Elmer. She was in the front seat with Broussard. Neither woman was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Deville was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. There are charges pending against the driver. The authorities are waiting for the investigation to be completed. This probably will involve a toxicology report as well. Although, there has been no statement released as to whether impairment played any role in the crash.

There has been no statement mady by the victim’s family.
