Motorcyclist Killed in Bossier City Multi-Vehicle Crash

Motorcyclist Killed in Bossier City

People like to complain that motorcycle riders drive too fast and like to weave in and out of traffic. And, even if that’s true, it doesn’t mean they deserve to be hurt or killed in a motor vehicle crash. The main reason given by car drivers for these accidents is that they didn’t see the motorcycle. Because the bikes are smaller, this could be true. However, in the crash that happened this past weekend where a motorcyclist was killed in Bossier City, it had more to do with speeding and failing to stop at a stop sign that caused the deadly crash.

At about 6:30 a.m., a man driving a motorcycle Southbound on Airline Drive was indeed speeding when a car came out of nowhere. A car was trying to make a left turn onto Old Minden Road. They drove directly into the path of a motorcycle. The car made the turn and caused the bike to crash into another vehicle.

A car had stopped at a traffic light just above where the motorcycle was driving. The car that turned the corner crashed directly into this car. At the same time, the motorcycle rider crashed his bike as well. He was taken to the hospital and was pronounced upon arrival.

The other two people in the car that was hit were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay. There is no update on the driver of the car that made the illegal turn. However, authorities have confirmed that he was cited for failure to yield.

While toxicology tests have been done, the police haven’t indicated that they think drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. The name of the victim hasn’t been released pending notification to the victim’s family.
