Sharon Logan, 65, died following a two-vehicle collision at Coliseum Boulevard and Heyman Lane in Alexandria on Saturday, October 24, 2026. A passenger in Logan’s Dodge Charger sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized, according to KALB’s reporting of the Alexandria Police Department investigation.
The collision happened shortly before 7 p.m. and involved a red Dodge Charger driven by Logan and a silver Cadillac SRX. Logan was transported in critical condition to a local hospital and died during surgery. The Cadillac driver sustained minor injuries and was released. The investigation remains open.
What Happened at Coliseum Boulevard and Heyman Lane?
Police preliminarily described the Cadillac as traveling westbound on Coliseum Boulevard and Logan’s Charger as heading southbound on Heyman Lane while attempting to cross Coliseum Boulevard. That description alone does not establish fault. Investigators must determine the relevant signs or signals, when each vehicle entered the intersection, approach speeds, sight lines and what each driver could reasonably perceive.
Evidence That Matters Here
Traffic controls and visibility. Photograph the intersection and document the applicable signs, signals, lighting and approach sight lines. If a signal governed the movements, preserve any relevant timing and operating records.
Video, physical evidence and vehicle data. Preserve nearby surveillance and dashcam recordings before deletion. The Charger and Cadillac should remain available for documented inspection, including damage patterns and any supported electronic event data. Debris, vehicle rest positions and scene measurements may help reconstruct the impact.
Medical timeline. Logan survived the initial collision but died during surgery. Emergency and hospital records are important to any potential survival action, without presuming consciousness or pain. The seriously injured passenger’s injuries require separate evaluation. The public account does not identify the passenger or establish a family relationship.
What the Families Should Know
Criminal citations and preliminary police accounts do not settle civil responsibility. Louisiana wrongful death and survival claims address distinct losses, depending on facts and legal eligibility. If retained, Babcock Injury Lawyers would preserve intersection and vehicle evidence, evaluate each person’s injury and treatment records, and investigate the relevant liability and uninsured motorist coverage.
Our Alexandria wrongful death and Louisiana personal injury resources explain the process. Logan’s family need not determine fault or whether a claim exists before acting to protect evidence. Call (225) 500-5000 or contact the firm online. We do not claim to represent anyone involved.
