A 15-year-old passenger died when a Nissan Frontier ran off Louisiana Highway 126, overturned and struck a tree at Waterbind Road near Grayson on September 28, 2026. The driver and front-seat passenger suffered injuries State Police described as minor.
Troop F’s preliminary account says the 2013 Frontier was traveling west before it left the highway to the left. The teenager was in the right rear seat and died at the scene. The release does not give the teenager’s name.
Restraint information does not explain the roadway departure
Police said the teenager was not restrained and the two front occupants were properly restrained. Those facts are part of the injury investigation, but they do not answer why the truck left the road.
LSP said impairment was not suspected. Routine toxicology samples were collected, and the release does not give results. That pending work should not be presented as evidence that alcohol or drugs caused the crash.
The Frontier’s condition and the marks along its path may help distinguish what happened before the rollover from damage caused during it. Any available crash data needs to be interpreted with the physical record. Our guide to vehicle inspections and crash evidence explains why documentation before repair or disposal matters.
Families can keep photographs, towing and storage information, and communications about the vehicle while qualified investigators assess it.
